Len Darr is 102 years old and he still goes to the gym twice a week. The Auckland, New Zealand, resident is, according the other gym members, surprisingly fit. His workouts involve the use of the treadmill, cycle, chest press, seated row and the pull down machine. He enjoys that active lifestyle and used to wrestle, swim and play rugby in his younger days. Along with his workout regimen, Darr has a very healthy diet that stresses portion control.
- Being fit and active is a lifestyle he adopted in his younger years, enjoying many physical activities.
- He likes seeing the people at the gym, including the staff and younger members of the gym.
- He plans to continue using the gym and services for as long as he is able to do them.
“Standing on one leg to tie up his shoelaces and walking up the stairs without puffing are just some stunts of 102-year-old Len Darr. Motivated by a friend, the Howickian signed up as a member at Lloyd Elsmore Park Pool and Leisure Centre last month.”
