There may be one group of people that don’t experience such a serious midlife crisis as discussed in this article. Though probably rare, those people would be the ones that are not so totally self absorbed. Because their interests revolve around the welfare of others, they don’t have the time to dwell on what they want or how they look; and what will happen to them when they really are old? Will they have enough money? Instead, their time is spent on seeing the difficulties others are experiencing, and then focusing on finding solutions for real problems. In the process they forget their worries at least for a little while.
- Reaching middle age means your energy, your body and your mind reach new areas of difficulty.
- A middle age crisis often begins with panic about turning 40 or 50 years old.
- Minds and musical tastes stay the same as you enter middle age; you still feel 22 mentally.
“If the crisis seeps in, if the start is silent, you need a jolt to realise it.”
